As civic space closes and rhetoric against human rights gains traction in El Salvador, marginalized activists and social movements must collaborate to strengthen themselves and their efforts to enact positive social change. On this panel, Counterpart International and their local civil society organization partners will share collaborative social movement strengthening mechanisms, such as Communities of Practice and an LGBTQI+ Collaborative Advocacy Space. This diverse panel representing LGBTQI+ persons, Afro-descendants and people with disabilities will discuss how these mechanisms have bolstered social movements and generated safe and collaborative spaces to identify solutions to defend the human rights of people in situations of vulnerability.
