Covid-19 & Health Information
Seattle International Foundation (SIF) is pleased to proceed with our conference in San José, Costa Rica on September 25-27, 2023. While we’re excited to see our audience in person this year, the health and safety of the CADF community—including staff, attendees and vendors—is important to our team.
As Covid-19 remains an ongoing global public health issue, we recognize the importance of communicating our policies and providing useful resources to inform the travel decisions that impact your health and safety. We believe that it is important to gather our community together in accordance with local laws and to promote conditions designed to protect the health and safety of the CADF community, as well as the broader community in San José. In short, our 2023 health guidelines are an informed by public policies in Costa Rica, the size and length of CADF 2023, the accessibility of healthcare globally, and our experience hosting an in-person conference in October 2022.
At CADF 2023, SIF has decided to follow the health guidelines established by the Costa Rican government. As of April 1, 2022, Costa Rica is open to tourists, and does not require vaccines, testing, masks, social distancing or implement other travel and gathering restrictions.
SIF encourages—but will not require—CADF 2023 attendees to be fully vaccinated and wear masks. Leading up to CADF 2023, SIF will continue to monitor guidelines set forth by the Costa Rican government and communicate any changes with our audience.
At CADF 2023, SIF will provide masks and hand sanitizer to participants. The event venue staff will implement regular cleaning and disinfection services in accordance with their safety protocols.
You can help protect our community and limit the spread of Covid-19 at CADF 2023. Please consider taking the following precautions:
- Review the country entry requirements from your point of departure, connection and return
- Wear a mask, regularly/thoroughly wash your hands and use sanitizers to prevent the transmission of viruses
- Take a rapid antigen or PCR test prior to traveling to Costa Rica
- Assess yourself for Covid-19 symptoms prior to traveling to the CADF 2023 venue
- Prepare a contingency plan for your accommodation and travel in the event of a positive test
