This site visit begins at Casa Ocote, in Zone 1 of the capital, where Agencia Ocote produces journalism, fosters culture, provides training, and hosts gatherings with citizens and diverse audiences. Ocote will share how an independent newsroom adapts to a context of democratic pressure, disinformation, and shifting funding landscapes.
Afterward, the journalistic and audio tour “Aquí pasó algo” (“Something Happened Here”) will begin its route through the Historic Center, visiting sites where key events in the country’s recent history took place. Participants will listen to stories, observe the city, and engage in discussions about memory, freedom of expression, and alliances to protect civic space. At the end of the visit, a brief guide and a map of the route will be provided.
Registration: Space is limited. Please reserve your spot for this visit directly through this form.
