Despite their different nature, experiences and purposes, Central American social movements, grassroots organizations and civil society organizations face common challenges in times of shrinking civic space, polarization and the rise of authoritarianism. Is it possible for them to find effective ways of articulation? What differentiated roles should they play in the current context? How can they balance their specific agendas with the common goal of protecting or rebuilding democracy? What kind of innovative strategies can they explore to achieve lasting social change?
