In this panel, five Guatemalan indigenous women will speak about the importance of promoting indigenous women’s leadership as a fundamental pillar of development and a key strategy to close the social inequality and gender gap as a means to advance towards the Sustainable Development Goals in Guatemala. From their own experience in leadership and decision making positions, these women will talk about positive changes in their economic, health, and the formative and political conditions that have allowed for a greater level of personal, family and community development.
