“Waylaid in Tijuana” is a documentary film that explores how immigration policies adopted in Washington, D.C. reverberate south of the border in Tijuana, Mexico. The documentary features migrants and asylum seekers from Haiti and Central America, migration experts, government officials, and migrant advocates from the Tijuana/San Diego region who grapple with the consequences of these policies on a daily basis. Join us following the day’s panel sessions for a screening and Q&A session with Dr. Katrina Burgess, writer and producer of the film, and gain insight into U.S. immigration policies and migrant advocacy.
