Renowned journalist and founder of Agencia Ocote, Alejandra Gutiérrez, will engage in a fireside chat with Ximena Andión, Deputy Regional Director for Mexico and Central America at the Ford Foundation, and Alberto Brunori, Regional Representative for Central America and the Dominican Republic of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. They will discuss the critical role that a diverse and robust civil society plays in advancing democracy and development in Central America, as well as growing concerns regarding the closing of civic spaces throughout the region and the role that the philanthropic community and international donors can play to deepen efforts to respond to this challenge.
