What happens when a rural woman gains access to opportunities to lead her own development? #TengoAlgoQueDecir, an exhibition by acclaimed photographer Lys Arango, explores this question through the story of Aurelia Beb Tec, a Maya Q’eqchi’ cacao farmer from Alta Verapaz, Guatemala.

Intimate images of her daily life reveal her work in the cacao fields, the knowledge she passes on to her daughters, and her contributions to her community’s economy, culture, and resilience. Aurelia’s story goes beyond the individual: it shows how investing in women’s capabilities, opportunities, and leadership can strengthen livelihoods, food systems, and entire communities.
